The Neogen Rapid Cow's Milk Protein Set is designed to check for the presence of cow's milk proteins in clean-in-place (CIP) final rinse water, environmental samples, food ingredients and processed food products. The Neogen Rapid Rapid cow's milk protein set uses lateral flow (LFD), an immunochromatographic test method that uses antibodies specific for the detection of cow's milk proteins.

Positive results are represented by the presence of three lines: a control line, a marking line and a test line, if milk protein is present equal to or higher than 3 ppm for raw materials, processed food products and CIP or rinsing water solution, and above 2.5 g / mL per 100 cm2 for surfaces. These limits may vary depending on the matrix tested. Samples containing more than 3% milk can result in an invalid test, which is indicated by the absence of the marker line and / or test line.
