Designed to detect both processed and unprocessed allergenic target proteins. The test is suitable for environmental samples, CIP flushing water and food samples. A universal extraction protocol streamlines testing for multiple analytes, saving you reagents and valuable time. The Neogen Peanut Protein ELISA set is intended for the detection of peanut proteins in clean-in-place (CIP) final rinse water, environmental samples, food ingredients and processed food products. The Neogen Peanut Protein ELISA set uses a sandwich ELISA. The peanut proteins present in the sample react with the anti-peanut antibody absorbed on the surface of polystyrene microtiter wells. After removing the unbound proteins via washing, anti-peanut antibodies are added that are linked to horseradish peroxidase (HRP). These enzymes-labeled antibodies form complexes with the previously bound peanut protein. After a second washing phase, the enzyme bound to the immunosorbent is detected by the addition of a chromogenic substrate, namely 3.3 ', 5.5' tetramethylbenzidine (TMB). The color change of this enzymatic reaction varies directly with the peanut protein concentration in the tested sample. Therefore, the absorbance at 450 nm is a measure of the peanut protein concentration in the test sample. The amount of peanut protein in the test sample can be extrapolated from the standard curve prepared from standards of known concentrations and adjusted to account for the dilution of the sample.
